Junior Volunteer Program

Thank you for your interest in the Junior Volunteer Program at Ochsner Health!

Applications for the summer 2025 program have now closed. Please consider applying next year. Application to open in March 2026.

The Junior Volunteer Program is offered at multiple locations during the summer for high school students ages 14 to 17. It is a way for students to explore a future healthcare career by gaining hospital knowledge. It is also a wonderful chance to help others in your local neighborhood.

Additional training needs include: reference letters, orientation (with a parent or legal guardian) and health screening (through document submission). More information will be provided.

The form will be forwarded directly to your local Volunteer Services Office at Ochsner for review. Due to the large response, please allow time for review. We appreciate your patience. After review, a volunteer staff member will contact you if a position is available with more program details and needs. You can expect some programs to offer half-day volunteer opportunities (Monday–Thursday, 8 a.m.-noon) during two-week to three-week sessions in June and July.
